National Gallery Singapore opened its doors in November 2015 to house the world's largest Singapore and Southeast Asian art collection. To promote the new gallery as an engaging central civic space, the Milton team worked with National Gallery to conceptualise a community event.
Spanning across 2 weekends, the Gallery Open House was a celebration of the Southeast Asian history and heritage, and saw over 30,000 visitors. Apart from managing multiple performances and workshops for the event, the team also helped transform part of the gallery into a bustling vintage street - the Chinatown Streetscape.
With old-school installations, games, activities and ambassadors dressed in vintage costumes mingling amongst the crowd, the Chinatown Streetscape was one of the Open House's key highlights, providing the younger generation an enriching platform to learn about their history and bond with the older ones over shared stories and experiences.
