After its successful run last year, Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is back again this October with its iconic annual scare event - Halloween Horror Night 6. As night descends, darkness led by Lady Death spills into the amusement park, engulfing unsuspecting souls with hair-rising terror and spine-chilling horror.
For this year's edition, Milton Singapore helped to design and produce Hu Li's Inn, a nightclub set in 1930s Shanghai. A beautiful lady serenading a still, captive audience may give guests an impression of an ordinary speakeasy. However, the spell quickly breaks as the club's inhabitants transform back into Chinese demon spirits, unleashing their vengeful, carnivorous nature. Ultimately, amidst strategically placed light, sound and special effects, Hu Li's Inn strives to please its customers by granting them their deepest wish - an evening to die for.
As part of Singapore’s 50th birthday celebrations, Bandai Namco Asia and Takashimaya Department Store collaborated to bring Gundam Docks, a 4,000 square metre exhibition of phenomenal Gundam series and limited edition merchandise to Singapore.
To amp up excitement, Milton Singapore brought in 2 larger-than-life Gundam robots. After a city tour, these 6-metre, 2-tonne robots were built right at the exhibition entrance. With daily light and sound shows, fans were able to truly indulge in the ultimate Gundam experience.
Bringing Gundam from UC0079 Earth Federation to 2014 AD Singapore may have been one of the crazier things we have done, but with sales tripling beyond our client’s expectations, it was definitely worth it.
After undergoing a major refurbishment exercise, One Raffles Place, a shopping mall in the heart of the CBD area, needed to open up with something refreshing, elaborate and buzz-worthy.
Our solution? Bringing the beauty of flowers to mall-goers with 9,000 gerberas, 2,600 test tubes, 130 wires and one aesthetically stunning 16.5m tall floating garden. Together with established Japanese floral designer Dan Takeda, a team of 30 Milton Singapore employees worked through 2 nights to not only create one of Singapore’s largest mall floral displays, but also successfully encapsulate how One Raffles Place provides its shoppers with a range of retail and leisure activities amidst the bustle of the CBD.
2015 saw Universal Studios Singapore (USS) running its fifth edition of Halloween Horror Nights, the widely anticipated scare event of the year. This also marks Milton Singapore's fourth project with the USS team.
Instead of the more generic horror elements featured on previous editions of Halloween Horror Nights, this year's will pay tribute to the nation's 50th birthday by bringing nightmares home. As night falls and the Blood Moon rises, the amusement park by day transforms into horror with a unique Singapore twist, striking fears and terror held closest to the heart.
Working only at night after the park ceased operations, Milton Singapore took 3 months to conceptualise, design and stage this iconic scare event. Working tirelessly and closely with the client, the team produced ConTERMINATED, one of the scare zones, as well as the Hell House, one of the four haunted houses. With creepy paper effigies of servants, props recreating scenes of the Underworld, numerous scare-actors and various sound & light effects, the Hell House aims to bring to guests the most unsettling housewarming of a lifetime.
